Invest in Yourself

Hello everyone, spring has arrived for almost everyone and fishing is in full swing.  It’s time to go out and have fun fishing and learn something new every day to expand your knowledge and skills. Expanding our knowledge involves obtaining info by reading, web research, digital content, videos as well as trying out what you learn by spending time on the water and practicing.

One source for learning is our ezine. CatfishNOW includes all the varied types of how-to content for beginners and advanced anglers as well. It is open 24/7 at Other sources include clubs and associations which you can join to enjoy their benefits.

Sometimes we are wary about which organizations are reputable to associate ourselves with. If I may, I would recommend two in addition to CatfishNOW. They both have content that adds to your knowledge of fishing. They are the National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA) and the American Catfish Association (ACA).

The National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA) covers all species of fish and connects the fishing industry with the fishermen that want to become professional fishermen. You can call them at: (937) 459-4444 for membership details or check out their website at  I am a member and recommend you become one too.

Secondly, the relatively new American Catfishing Association (ACA) covers the sport of catfishing from A to Z with an emphasis on conservation. CatfishNOW is the official ezine for the association.  Several membership levels are available beginning at as little as $25 per year. Whether you are a recreational angler or a tournament angler, ACA has something for you. Check them out on their website at

Whether you are a weekend fishing warrior, a tournament angler, or a small lake and pond angler, take a step to invest in yourself by forming relationships with others that can contribute to your knowledge base of fishing. Check out the listings above and good luck fishing to all.

Be safe and take a child fishing.

God Bless and Good Fishing!
