Looking Back at an Impressive Record

A recent post on the International Game Fish Association’s Facebook page provided a fun reminder of a great winter catfish catch three years ago. Alexandra Hall was fishing the James River in Virginia on December 4, 2022, when she landed this impressive 63-pound blue catfish. With this fish, Alexandra set both the IGFA Women’s 20-pound Line Class World Record and Female Junior World Record for the species—records that still stand today. The massive cat ate a cut-bait and was landed after a 10-minute fight. After recording the weight on her certified scale, Alexandra released the fish safely.
