Cabela’s King Kat will crown a Classic Champion and name the winner of the 2018 points championship on September 15.
Catfish anglers from several states will travel to the Ohio River at Jeffersonville, IN to compete in Cabela’s King Kat Tournament Trail Classic Championship. Competitors include only those anglers who have qualified for the Classic Championship during the 2018 season. The 2018 Classic features a guaranteed payout of $110,000 in cash and prizes including $20,000 in the points race.
Anglers in the September 14 and 15 Super Event will be testing their catfishing skills against the best catfish anglers in the nation at Jeffersonville. Anglers will fish the Ohio River from the Markland Lock & Dam, south to Cannelton Lock & Dam.
Each day’s weigh-in will take place on the Riverfront Stage in front of a terraced lawn amphitheater in downtown Jeffersonville. Friday’s weigh-in will be followed by a country music concert. The weigh-in returns to the Riverfront Stage on Saturday to crown the Classic tournament champs and the 2018 points champions.
Registration and Seminar
Tournament director, Jeremy Coe will conduct a pre-tournament seminar on the day before the tournament at Cluckers Restaurant, 100 W. Riverside Dr., Jeffersonville, IN (812-590-3662).
Sign up will begin on Thursday at 5:00 pm. The Seminar and National Sponsor Field Test Product Drawing starts at 7:00 pm local time. This seminar is open to the public. Interested anglers not fishing the event are encouraged to attend and meet top catfish anglers from several different states.
The Weigh-In Site
The tournament weigh-in will be held on Friday and Saturday at Fisherman’s Wharf, 100 W. Riverside Dr., Jeffersonville, beginning at 4:00 pm. This is the perfect opportunity for non-competitors to learn how the big ones are caught. Interviews of the top 5 teams are conducted following the weigh-in.

The Clark-Floyd Counties Convention & Tourism Bureau welcomes all King Kat anglers and their guests and invites them to use the opportunity to enjoy the wide variety of local attractions, eateries, and shopping available in the area.
Host lodging is provided by the Radisson Hotel, 505 Marriott Dr., Clarksville, IN (812-283-4411). Let them know you are there for the KK Classic. The number of rooms may be limited. It is recommended that participants make their reservations early.
Free Kids Fishing Rodeo
A FREE Catfish Kids Fishing Rodeo will be held in conjunction with the tournament. Sign up is Saturday morning at Fisherman’s Wharf, the same place as the weigh-in.
The event is free of charge and open to all youth 12 years old and younger. All participating children must be accompanied by an adult. Sign up is from 8:00 am until 9:00 am with fishing from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. The Fishing Rodeo is a chance for children of the area to get out and enjoy nature, do a little fishing and win some prizes. All participants are eligible for a chance to win one of six $1,000 scholarships presented by Outdoor Promotions. The scholarships are awarded annually at the Cabela’s King Kat Classic.
Outdoor Promotions and participating anglers have contributed $350,000.00 to youth scholarships since 1997. They are very proud to be a part of the education process for the youngsters who participate in the tournaments as adult/youth teams and those who fish in the Outdoor Promotions Kids Fishing Rodeos.
