I could tell people everything I know and they still wouldn’t know much. But it is important to understand that catfishing is about learning new things. To be a good angler you gotta’ think of the right thing at the right time. No matter how much you know, it won’t do much good if you don’t know when to use it.
There is some stuff that is pretty regular, but I haven’t found anything that is totally consistent about catfishing. Almost everyone likes skipjack for bait for example, but it doesn’t work every time. Sometimes they want something different.
There are plenty of other things that are different all the time. You may have to change strategies big time as you move from one pool of water to another. There are many variables to understand and accumulate. For example, the speed and direction of the wind may change your strategy too.
The really good anglers will match what they know with when to use it! It is the knowledge that comes with time on the water.
