Phil King credits his grandfather and grandmother for his love of fishing and the outdoors. He said they would fish all summer while school was out on summer break.
“You never know what is going to happen,” stated King. “Some days you can’t keep them off the hook and others they will humble you and leave you trying to figure out why the bite was so poor. Most of those reasons for why they won’t bite are out of our control but we still keep going and trying to figure it out through our lifetime of fishing.”
King has years of experience and knowledge stretching across many states related to catfishing. After years of fishing, he still looks forward to fall as one of the better times to fish. And if you are a tournament fisherman he has some advice from the heart.
“I encourage everyone to win as often as they can,” advised King. “But always be professional and humble when you do. Otherwise, you hurt your family, friends, media, sponsors, and potential sponsors. Last but not least, you damage your fishing career with your peers.”
“As far as October is concerned, the fish will be on a feeding binge,” concluded King. “The water temperature is falling and the fish will be in the deep water pattern. Good luck to all fishing this fall!”
