New Gear, New Technology, New Opportunities
In July, I had the good fortune to attend the 2026 ICAST Show in Orlando, Florida. Vendors at the show presented new fishing products for the new year to follow. This show was not disappointing.
One of the biggest announcements was the new Garmin 42HD and 44HD LiveScope technologies. They produce more refined images of the fish and no longer require the black boxes. They also showed their new SpyPole and 360 transducer and all their new capabilities. These groundbreaking technologies will enhance any angler’s capabilities.
Specific to just catfish, B’n’M Poles, CatfishPro and Fishbites all had new products entering the marketplace. From enhanced rods to new baits for catfish, each are worth checking out on their respective websites.
Other new products for live-bait storage, livewell and bait containers, and water conditioners were numerous. It is good to see innovative approaches to tackle and its storage. Our industry is alive and well.
Lastly, the clothing industry for the outdoors has exploded. Clothing options for any season and weather conditions will not disappoint. Even new shoes and boot options were impressive.
