It has a wider gap between the point and the shank. This means more room for larger baits that will not get jammed between the point and the shank. One of his top tips is to snell these hooks. This gives a good angle for the hook-up. Also, he likes to add the weight below the hook to ensure the hook is above the structure.
His other tip is matching the size of the hook based on the placement of the bait being used. Smaller hooks hide inside baits that are too big. Be sure to have enough point exposure to make a good connection, but don’t oversize the hook.
