These top-quality American-made trolling racks get the job done when you need secure support for your tackle.
Today’s catfish anglers often target fish that may weigh 50 pounds or more, and they use tactics that require tougher-than-normal gear.
Consider long-line trolling, for example, an effective fishing technique when cats are scattered and hard to locate. Using this method allows covering large areas of water with multiple baits, and the more water you cover, the more fish you’re likely to catch.
The right trolling system is essential in maximizing your success with this technique, however. Rods must be held steady with harder pulls than with spider trolling. Planer boards or umbrella rigs pull even harder and demand a sturdy secure rod holder system.
“With tactics like this, we recommend using our strongest trolling rack, the T-6200 Troll King,” says Driftmaster owner David Baynard. “This super-strong rack is suitable for hard pulls and tough conditions. It’s used mostly for anchoring in current for catfish, positioning all your rods so they are pointing downstream. It consists of two stainless tubes that run parallel across the boat and are supported by double support posts on each end. A 3-x-10-inch plate mounts to the boat on each end. The rack attaches to the plate and can easily be removed when not in use. The purchaser has a choice between models that are 12, 18 and 24 inches high.”
The rod holders, #T-6000-LRH, are sold separately. They come with a locking stem and lock sprocket. They can be adjusted left to right, then locked in place, eliminating the need for left thread. They include a mounting plate that clamps to both tubes. Because they connect the tubes, the rod holder assemble actually strengthens the rack. The T-6000-LRH rod holders are available in patented 0/30-degree or 20/50-degree configuration.
“Driftmaster rod holders and trolling systems can transform your fishing boat into a catching boat,” Baynard said. “They can secure your rods exactly where you need them, within easy reach, so you can cover more water and catch more fish with less fatigue.
“We believe that a rod holder should secure your fishing rod in an upright position, release the rod easily when you get a strike, and never break,” he continued. “And we understand you use your boat for different things, so every Driftmaster rod holder or trolling system comes off the boat easily when not in use.”
All Driftmaster products are made in USA and warranted for life against breakage.
“If any of our products ever break just send it to us and get a new one,” said Baynard. “We do not require a receipt or proof of purchase. We know that it’s ours and, if it breaks, we are going to stand behind it.”
