Grand Lake Anglers: Report Tagged Flatheads
Source: Oklahoma Dept. of Wildlife Conservation
The Oklahoma Department of Conservation is conducting a flathead catfish study on Grand Lake, and they’re asking for your help if you fish there.
“We’re tagging flathead catfish in Grand Lake to learn about their movement, spawning and harvest,” the department said in a July 21 Facebook post. “Tagged fish can be identified by a small tag attached to the gill plate.
“If you catch a tagged fish, please report the catch by calling or texting 918-504-2303. Your help gives us important data to better manage this awesome species.
“Thank you for supporting Oklahoma fisheries!”
They also note if you catch a tagged fish you can keep it. They just need your report.
