The West Tennessee Catfish Anglers just completed their second tournament of the year. The March 30, 2019 event saw eight boats participating. The tournament was staged on Pickwick at the historic Botel at Savannah, TN.
Air temperatures were in the mid 60’s with the water temp ranging from 56 to 59 degrees. Winds were at 10 – 20 from the WSW with a cold front approaching in the evening. The tailwater elevation was 356 feet above sea level and the discharge was at 36,500 cubic feet per second.
“Thanks to the Man upstairs for holding off on the bad weather until after all the anglers had left the ramp,” said Tournament Director Steve Herne. “The wind today was annoying but fishing was doable unless you decided to fish the lake. Quality fish were brought to the scales and all were released alive and kicking. Especially Larry Muse’s creel, which were all jacked up on high quality oxygen. All in all, a good day on the water. Thanks to all for making it a smooth process. See y’all in May up in Caruthersville.”
