When the tally was in the team of John Terry and Jamie Williams took the lead on day one. They claimed the top spot with 122.26 pounds that included second Big Kat at 34.12-pounds.
“The water temp had cooled down some because of the recent rain and changed some of the patterns that most guys had plan to fish with all the water flow,” reported Williams. “Some of the patterns paid off where others didn’t. Water is muddy and around 64 to 66 degrees. There werepPartly cloudy sky’s most of the day with highs in the 80s.”
“We started the day fishing shallow water before moving out to the ledges,” said Terry. “We caught our fish on shad and perch from Jamie K Outdoors.”
“We also decided to fish a flat off the main channel,” added Williams. “Every move we made we picked up fish and was able to cull up to what our day total was. John was awesome fishing with today we both had a great day. We caught around 13 fish, most being around the same size until we boated our biggest fish at 34 pounds. Tomorrow is a different day and another tournament. You have to finish with the most weight both days and there are still 5 more fish to catch. We just hope they are enough to keep us on top.”
Terry and Williams are sponsored by G&W Equipment, Fatboy Custom Rods, Driftsticks, Boat Sales of Lake Wylie and Driftmaster Rod Holders.
With bragging’ rights for day one the team will begin day two with a 22-pound lead.
