Ole Sad Daddy, Start to Finish with Jeff Dodd

Ole Sad Daddy, Start to Finish with Jeff Dodd

MRM ANGLER ROUNDUP – 2017

The 2017 Mississippi River Monsters tournament in Memphis will feature prominent anglers and tournament teams in a series of catfish seminars. The Friday afternoon event promises to provide more catfishing information than an individual could accumulate in years of fishing on their own.

Dodd is known for his ability to put big fish in the boat.

One of the distinguishing elements of tournament catfishing anglers, and catfish anglers in general for that matter, is their willingness to share what they know with others. The Angler Roundup seminar series is being introduced to do just that in a short period of time. If you have questions about catfishing you need to invest the time to be there on September 15, 2017 inside the pyramid at Memphis, TN.

Here’s another Ole Sad Daddy.

The 1:30 time slot will be filled by Jeff “Big Daddy” Dodd. Dodd is well known for the phrase “Ole Sad Daddy.” The term is used by many catfish anglers to refer to a big catfish.

One of Dodd’s most recent accomplishments is winning the World Championship of Catfishing (WCC). He and his fishing partner, Roy Harkness, took the coveted crown on the Tennessee River at Savannah, TN on July 8, 2017.

Their winning bag included the “Big Fish” of the tournament at 55.60 pounds. Another thing he is well known for is coming up with tournament winning big fish. He will be telling you how he does it in his seminar.

“Questions are welcome too,” said Dodd. “I want to talk about putting a good one in the boat. And I mean everything from the time he bites until he goes in the livewell.”

“If I leave something out and folks got a question we can answer it on the spot,” continued Dodd. “I hope to spend about half my time talking about how to put a big one in the boat, and the other half on questions and answers where I can help with both the dos and don’ts of trophy catfishing.”

Other well-known anglers that will be presenting at Angler Roundup include Glenn Flowers from Florida, Natalie Wilbanks and David Shipman from Mississippi, James “Big Cat” Patterson from Memphis, and Jason and Daryl Masingale, from Arkansas.

Regardless of where you fish, there will be plenty of tips and techniques that you can use in your own backyard. The Angler Roundup begins at noon on Friday and runs through about 3:45 pm. For fishing teams, the next event following the seminars is the Captain’s Meeting at 6:30 pm.
