Lake Tawakoni at W. Tawakoni, Texas, will host the second Cabela’s King Kat Tournament Trail of 2018. The February 17, 2018 event is an opportunity for catfish anglers to compete for cash, prizes and a chance to advance to the Cabela’s King Kat Classic Championship.
There are a couple of important changes to the schedule for 2018. The number of tournaments has gone up to 20, and instead of two Classics there will be only one.
The points division this year will be worth $20,000! First place, based on the most points in the anglers best 5 finishes, will determine who wins $10,000. The other half of the $20,000 will distribute among the next 9 places.
This year’s Classic Championship will be held September 14 & 15, 2018 on the Ohio River at Jeffersonville, Indiana. The total purse at the classic will be $110,000. First place will be a $50,00 boat rig.
The anglers weighing in fish at the 2018 Classic will be doing so in front of 10,000 to 15,000 people because of a county music event that will be held immediately following the Classic. When the last fish is weighed and the winners determined, top Nashville stars will present a concert on the same stage.
It all gets started in February at Tawakoni.
